Hello! I’m Andrew Henning.

Welcome to my personal website. I like to spend my free time with my wife and two daughters, as well as reading, learning, playing chess, and working on personal AI and machine learning projects. Although I’m American by birth, I happily reside in Glasgow, Scotland, where I enjoy the beautiful landscapes, temperate climate, and convivial locals.

Professionally, I’m a Head of Machine Learning who leads teams of statisticians, analysts, and machine learning engineers that tackle a variety of problems throughout the data science pipeline, from exploratory data analysis to modeling, reporting, and visualisation. Previously, I co-founded and led a team of ten specialist machine learning and data science engineers and researchers in the financial industry, but have since moved on to work in insurance, where I worked for a few years as a machine learning manager. My research interests include natural language processing and computational argumentation, but my experience in industry spans the wider breadth of data types, sizes, and modelling techniques.
